tradetools dry cut saw
Hi guys,
just putting the feelers out to see if anyone has owned, used or heard anything about the tradetools brand dry-cutting metal saws (TradeTools)
will be using for cutting 1.6mm wall stainless tubing.
my horizontal bandsaw is ok but is kind of giving me major headaches (not real easy to change angles for mitre cuts, cutting bed is twisted so it's a process getting cuts square in the vertical, and not to mention the insane amount of time it takes to make one cut in stainless)
I'd love to hear any experiences with the quoted product, i'm aware i'll have to change the stock blade which will add another couple hundred.
cheers
Corgan

No background with the unit you are considering, but plenty with Brobo's and SS and with the Triton Steel Cutter which uses the same blade technonogy in a 185mm format.
I suspect you would be buying a lot of blades if you want to cut stainless. The technology works well for mild steel and softer alloys, but stainless is a lot harder and tends to chip the carbide tips. You might be OK with thinwall tube, but thicker tubes or bar would literally eat teeth.

cheers for the input- i'd only consider using it for 1.6mm tube, which is the only thing i really cut a fair amount of. other projects can be done on the chopsaw or bandsaw if precision is needed and time is not of the essence

Hi there Corgan,
I have a friend that has one of those saws, And he reackons it's the best thing since sliced bread..
I was asking him how it would go on bar stock and the like and he says blade life is simmilar to Brobo blade life..
This came about after wondering if it was worth adding coolant, When his reply was it dosn't need it..
Anyways thats one report for you to add to the list..Warning Disclaimer

thanks mate- appreciate the report. i'm getting more and more eager to try one out, i certainly have no scope buying a coldsaw like a brobo but if this little thing does the job i want it'll be a big time saver
cheers
