Turkish Metalwork
Last week I mentioned that I was in Istanbul and BobL suggested that a visit to the city's Military Museum might be interesting. It was.
As might be be expected, there were numerous weapons on display, many of which were firearms. As not to cause offense I will post some photos of those weapons in the possibly more appropriate Gunsmithing forum.
The photos below show examples of raising, forming, casting, etching and inlay. The work was executed between the 15th and 18th centuries.
Bob.

As a former metal polisher, I can quite easily remove all those blemishes and give them back to you all smooth and shiny.

Hi Bob,
I have already clicked on the "Like Button" but I feel it deserves a personal thank you! Hope you are enjoying your trip.
SimonGirl, I don't wanna know about your mild-mannered alter ego or anything like that." I mean, you tell me you're, uh, super-mega-ultra-lightning babe? That's all right with me. I'm good. I'm good.

Thank you Simon.
We arrived home on Friday after 4 1/2 fantastic weeks in Hungary, Croatia and Turkey. I have the task ahead of me of sorting out my photos. There are over a thousand I took at the Rahmi Koc Museum of Industry in Istanbul last week. Mostly steam orientated, might be some interest?
