    Default Using my Hercus

The old motor and gear box is about as old as I am so I fully refurbished the electricals, made a steel mandrel.Turned a sleeved slotted, spring loaded drive from the drive shaft and using a skate board bearing recessed a carrier up the other end.Rather use it than paint it.

    Hi Pete,

Looks interesting, but what will you use this thingamajig for?

Does it have something to do with making pens?

A current trend in woodpens is to apply various finishes such as two part ones. The mandrel will hold two turned blanks for the coating process and can then be left to dry in a more dust free area.

    Hi Pete,

    Now I'm with you.

I reckon a coat of jam would just finish it off, say Hercus green!
