I got the DTH 2 years ago and love it. Its my main tool and my preference is HSS now that I can grind it to make various grinds for different jobs My carbide tools are now in a drawer and not used much at all except when I use some dodgy stuff I found then its out with carbide to clean it up or if its hardened stuff. (not often) As my background is not in metal lathe work except a bit in high school I learn as I go doing various projects and have the nephew to call on if I need some info as he is a fitter and turner.

For the record, the gent i spoke to over the phone at Eccentric Engineering (the maker of the Diamond tool holders) was more than pleasant and helpful. I had some questions about what size I should use and he sorted that out pretty quick. Super fast post and his email replies were comprehensive.
Just thought he deserved a plug for that!
