    Hi

    I recently found this incomplete die set .... Ive not seen split dies like these before ? Id like to know any info . Mike

    I recently bought a whitworth P&N set of these.
    Have only cleaned them, not tried yet. I am hoping the adjustment will make it easier to do a 'creep up' repair on damaged threads that won't let a fixed size die-nut on.

    PS I thought you meant an interesting press 'die-set' by the post title! Rather a threading die set.

    I see you have a Premo lathe , I have one as well . They are a solid lathe . Mike

    Start by cleaning it all thoroughly.
    Then you can see the sizes stamped on the cutters and guides. Pair them up and work out what is missing- it is interesting that there are four guides but more than 8 cutter halves.
    The cut-out in the bottom of the tray reminds me of being for a tap handle; so maybe on the search for matching brand tap handle and probably intermediate tap for each of the size dies.
