    Default The Wait Is Over..............

Well after a couple of weeks of waiting waiting waiting. The time came to head to Pakenham this morning to pick up my new 22inch shaper and Brobo 2 speed cold saw and my heat treat oven gear and as an added bonus 2 melting furnaces and in one of the furnaces is a crucible that will hold 4 liters of fluid (not sure how much weight it would hold ie;ally or cast iron) it is a graphite crucibe worth around $500
Anyways all of the above for $500.00

    WHO"S A HAPPY BOY>??????

    Hi Matthew,
Thats sure a trailer full for $500!
Is there a motor on the shaper or is it still linedrive?
Hows the vice held on the shaper?

    Stuart,
It has a 3Hp motor on it and it seems to be factory fitted.
I wonder if they kept the same model of shaper and made all the castings seperately as an option.
Everything on it looks like it has never been used..The ways still show the scraping marks and the vice has never had a nic taken out of it.
The photos are taken in the dark so I will get some good detailed ones tomorrow.

    Nice haul Matt,
For $500 I would say it's definitely worth you suck award, better than my deal by a long shot. I would have driven all the way down there for that price and still classed it as a bargain with the fuel cost on top.

Well done, and we need some good daylight pictures of it all once you have it off the trailer.

    Have you moved yet?

Sorry I am going to have to keep it a secret for a little longer as not only have I made good friends with the old feller, But he has so much more for me to collect over the next month. Quite alot of it is free, There is about 2 ton of assorted bar stock rangeing from 1 to 3 meter lengths up to about 80mm. Including tool steel inn the same size range and heaps of tooling.
If I were to tell I'm afraid someone will offer money to him and I'll lose out.
So it's nothing personal just looking out for myself on this one.
All I will say it's a machine shop that the owner is retiring from and is closing down.

Don't blame you for keeping it quite, these sort of deals only come along in a life time, so grab them while you can and keep it all hush hush until you have got what you wanted there.

Good score again, and I have a feeling you are going to post a lot of you suck threads in the next couple of weeks. At least it's a member here thats getting it that will appreciate it all, instead of some dealer making money off him.

I was going to say that, pity it didn't come along a little latter or the house sold quicker, still you have to get it while it's there.
Anyway it will give you some warm up and practice for when you do the big move, thats what you can tell your wife anyway, LOL

    Nice pick up indeed mate.

Are you thinking of offering a heat treating service in the future at all?

I make reloading and swage dies and looking for someone to do my heat treating. It would be small amounts, about 8=10 dies at a time.

    Cheers,

    Mike

Maybe your friend has found someone interested in their stuff... rather than have his uncaring family divide it up and turn the 'old crap' into 50 new Hyundai cars, he wants to give it away to you who is passionate about looking after it.

    Enjoy!!!

Looks the same to me as well Harty.

Matt did you get any shaper tooling? If not don't forget to have a good look around for any.

    Hey Harty,
It turns out it is an 18inch and it looks to me to be the same as yours.
    Question..............
Does your machine have 2 bolt on shelves or only the big one I can see in the picture? Mine has the same large shelve as in your photo and another one was with it that is smaller, But it was not bolted on and I can't seem to work out where it goes.
It won't be long Mate until our shapers will be able to meet, I wonder what their children will be.????? LOL
