Welding
Hi All
Just a tip for Arc or Mig welding
I was getting frustrated with my flip top welding helmet because getting the arc in the right place was hit & miss .
I just got an automatic darkening lens that fits into my existing helmet, they are sold by CIG.
The result is fantastic using half the wire and half the grinding discs because
you can lay the weld where you want it.
This is a much cheaper way than buying a new helmet , they are powered by
solar cells in the lens which react to the arc and are self contained.
Happy welding.Iligitimus non carbourundum

With being a weekend welder, I had the same problem. I bought one of these full masks about 8 years ago now. They're the ant's pants.

C'mon twodogs, we're waiting with bated breath...
Sounds the goods for me also, my (very occassional) welding is tish enough without mask problems.

Gasweld have these lenses on sale until 30/6 for $75 for anyone interested.
Usual caveats apply, see Auto darkening welding helmet thread for discussion.
