In Morphetts engine house there is a model of a Cornish pumping engine.
Sadly this engine is behind glass and is difficult to photo but I tried anyway
I fell in love with this engine so much that I will be making one.
I need some drawings of a 16:1 scale Cornish pumping engine if anyone has some in their back pocket Preferably scale drawings of an eighty inch engine .
Of course it is only material gathering time at the moment as the Weirs pump will have to be finished first.

Interesting stuff Phil, if you are ever in Holland, close to Amsterdam there is the worlds biggest steam engine pump, Museum de Cruquius in Haarlemmermeer.
It was used to drain the polders around Amsterdam.
Have visited that several times on a few different trips.

Everytime I'm near cobdogla the damn pump isn't running I understand it is a pistonless (if that's a word) engine
I have been having a hard look at the engine at Cruquius for a while now. It would be worth a trip just to see that one.
Is it possible to pick me up on your way out next time

These ones are from the PS Industry moored at Renmark.
I found it interesting as the boiler and engine were made at the Roberts foundry in Bendigo.

While we were in Port Adelaide we went to the National Railway Museum.
These people should be applauded for the work they have done in preserving our heritage. Hell, there was even oil in some of the oil boxes.
All of these engines had their fittings still intact and looked like they could be fired up at a moments notice. I was blown away.

I'm getting close to the end Wheelin', most of the rest are 'chick' pics...not that there is anything wrong with that
The missus did a video diary so I might put that into a vid, although I just looked at the footage and I feel the cutting room floor might be a bit dirty by the time I am finished.

Thanks Phil, Great pics.
My Pop was a big enthusiast of steam trains. He always had us looking through books of them. It still amazes me till this day just how small they look until you put say a handlebar mustached man in the pic for some scale!

Hi Wheelin',
fire is pretty indiscriminate in what it takes. I've never been there but everyone knows they do a great job and no doubt will get back at it.
Thanks Sawdust Maker,
we went to a small one man aircraft museum that had to be seen to be believed. I will post those after this lot and that should be it
Hi Ewan,
the only reason that one got in is it's the only pic of that loco I have...dammit
This lot are of a lighthouse we were told to look at. I think it is at Port Adelaide.

This lot are from the aviation museum in Greenock south of Clare.
For a one man show this was pretty impressive, pretty cramped but still impressive.
