White Water?
Hi Guys/Girls I have recently added coolant to my new Chinese lathe. The product supplied by Hare and Forbes is Houghton's HOCUT High performance metal working fluid at 30:1 ratio. My problem is even with roller door up ,windows open and fans running after visiting my playpen my lungs feel like I have swollowed a packet of razor blades. Can you help me with a more friendly alternative or is anyone using the product without the effects?

Hi,
I use full synthetic Callington 990. It is green but mixes fairly well clear. I have had splashes in my mouth and whilst it tastes vile i have had no bad effects from it. No problems with skin contact either.
Cheers,

Thanks Bob. Thats pretty consistent with my experience. I"ll have to try and find something a little gentler on the breathing system which to be honest aint all that great. My youngest son tells me they had "Green stuff" at school 20 odd years ago that smelt great. Maybe thats what your using?
