Who's interested in meeting up for a BBQ?
Anyone interested in attending a BBQ if I organise one? I can be a family event if members would be keen to do that.
Time/Date and place TBA depending on who's interested in where they all live. I'd be willing to travel to Central VIC if it came to that.
My apologies to interstate people. You would no doubt be more than welcome to attend any proposed BBQ but understand that you most likely won't.
Any ideas, float them here. No doubt some (maybe all) of you already meet socially on a regular basis but I'm keen to get together again if anyone else is.
Cheers,
Simon

As you know I am to far away to attend, but thanks for the invite.
One an idea might be to hold it at someones place so the blokes could talk tools. As for who's place you would have to sort that out, but thought it might be an idea.
Sort of like a workshop BBQ.

Hi Dave, did think of you when I posted mate.
Hi Phil,
I'd be partial to a BBQ on Lake windoree if anyone else was up for it. I don't need an excuse to visit raat, it's a great place!
Or, like Dave suggested can have it at someones place. I'd offer my place if people are keen to travel.
Cheers,
Simon

I'd be there! "bring a plate" type do - or would you like us bring food in the plate as well
Have a talk to Phil (machtool) about organising the food for group of metal workers. He's really got that game sewn up.
Cheers,
Joe

OK. Looking good. Ideas on a venue? Do we want a central location like raat or you guys want to have it at someones place or come to my place?
PS I like Phils cooking style too! I would be happy to do a similar thing. What do people want to do? Bring their own or I can buy the stuff and we all spit the bill?

I know someone in the fire brigade down that way, so you shouldn't have any trouble with lighting fires, LOL

Ballarat is about the same distance from me as Melbourne. So I'm easily pleased.
I do like the idea of a workshop visit and BBQ combined!
We Victorians could perhaps start a new "Forum Activity" and have a - say - 2 or 3 monthly BBQ/Pizza/Kebab/Cjinese/whatever afternoon at someone different's place each time?
That would give us some better insights into members' innovations and solutions (from a hobbyist perspective rather than industrial perspective).
Or it might include a local engineering works or Railway workshop or Model Engineers' club rooms or something like that, since I suspect not everyone's property and shed is suitable to have 10 or 12 men over for a feed and sticky-beak.
I'd certainly be up for it (and give me a good reason to clean up my shed) once in a while.
Thoughts?
Cheers,
Joe
