Who really wins Ebay auctions
Dear All
Out of curiosity I was looking at a mini mill available from ozmestore on Ebay. I decided to look at the completed items to see how much the machine had sold for in the past. Curiously the same buyer seems to have purchased the same machine along with other machines at good prices. They have even bought 3 mills that are the same. They have not bought anything else from anyone else.

I don't consider it "winning" although some do and treat the bidding like a contest. The 'winners' usually use software to snipe at the last second. I put in my maximum bid and don't check back.

Well spotted Terry.
I had a sniff around it8's wins and the bid history on all of their items and it certainly seems suspect. And so, seeing as I'm a tad bored and haven't popped anyones' bubbles for a while, I've just shot off a little note to eBay about them. There's nothing to lose if it's just co-inkydink
Hi folks,
The bidding history of user it8 (eBay My World - it8) appears to be connected to user ozmestore1 (eBay My World - ozmestore1) and seems to be bidding in a way as to create a hidden reserve price towards the end of auctions. it8's bidding/purchase history appears to be solely with ozmestore1 and often they have "won" the same or similar large items more than once; that, unless are being resold, very few people would have need for multiples of.
Just letting you know that something seems a tad fishy.
Cheers

I often check this out before bidding on an item for two reasons. Feedback is usually given too quickly, ie people get the item, they're excited and it looks to be what they bid on so they leave feedback. A short time later it all falls to pieces and there's no way to alert fellow bidders that the item is in fact junk, so I generally try to contact someone who has purchased the same item some time ago and enquire whether they are still happy with it. This has proved valuable in the past.
As a result of this I too have noticed that the same bidder seems to bid on/purchase the same item regularly from sellers.
I think it pays to find the time to investigate, don't just take 100% feedback as genuine.
Another reason I do this is, over a year ago I got ripped off by a guy who sold me a SCMSaw, absolute rip off, so I said so on feedback (as well as unsuccessfully contacting Ebay). Now that feedback % don't go beyond 12 months, he has re appeared (same name, same number of transactions) but has a 100% score based on the 1 or 2 items he has sold recently while he builds himself up potentially preparing the next scam. (yes I am bitter and yes I have a long memory)

RedShirtGuy's approach is the best idea. I came across the same issue a year or so ago with EBay and fired off a complaint. EBay responded very positively and swiftly (within hours!).
You can always use the 'live help' option up the top of the page or Create a Dispute.
Alternatively there is nothing worse that being outbid on something that you wanted at a reasonable price (I think my win/loss ratio would be about 20/80). I suppose you could always use something like Bid Slammer but I reckon thats cheating.

Good find, definitely fishy, I hope ebay do something about this, maybe ban him for a month.
Then again ebay might not give a #### as they still get their fees from the sale.
I use to sell in auctions on ebay but when demand drops off, the motors I sell can go for dirt cheap, I can imaging its the same for him, especially when hes pushing so many of the same items.

Have you read the responses he gives for negative feedback (ozmestore)?

I have a habbit of buying things on Ebay, And if I like a product I will go back to that seller over and over.
Over the last 4 years there has been a seller on the bay that starts all his auctions a .99c and has 3-400 items listed at one time, As the product is of extreamely good quality, And also consumable items I generally place a bid of $1.00 on every item he has for sale. Quite often I find that I have won 30-40 items in a row, Combined postage and it makes a very efective and cheap way for me to re-stock my storeroom with flap, grinding, cutting wheels, drill bits, burrs endmills Etc Etc...
There is NO collusion with the seller,I don't even know him, but my feedback if you look would say the opposite...Looks can be decieving....!!!!!!!! I am NOT saying there is not something fishy going on with the seller ozmestore1, Just saying that others may think the way I do and are just trying to replenish their storeroom..
Just my opinion and thoughts on this matterWarning Disclaimer

I counted $4700 worth of machinery for June, as mentioned there are also 3 mills.
OHHHHHH I've got too much time on my hands.
Look at that super fast shipping, feedback received the day after the auction ended.
He's even still using the account to push bids up right now, this is the first auction I opened when I viewed his store.

His bidding history also

I'd say he was bidding on 40+ items in a 24 Hour span from seller1 who is ozmestore1 and thats only what I can see.
I'll stop posting now
