Are you's using double tubes in your lighting. Mine have provision for two but have always ran with one. Would it be worth fitting two led tubes to each? Also they don't have any covers/diffusers. Do these make much difference?

Two per fitting is really worth having,
My shed is 45m2 and I have 5 doubles and 3 singles which I am going to change to doubles.
When I took the diffusers/covers off mine most of the plastic clips shattered and I cannot get replacements. I would only put the covers back on if they are near something like a machine that could break then.

I have 56sq m and run 4 x 1200mm twin and generally 1 single 1200mm and it made a very much welcome improvement
Then fitted 1 x 1200 led above the lathe
Next for 2 1200 twins above the mill on some unistrut
There are apps for your phone that measure lux
one needs to calibrate first against a proper lux meter for accuracy
However, all you really need to do is compare against a known light source...eg without calibration just measure the known source that your comfortable with and then check against your actual conditions
The higher the lux at your task areas the better it will be
i run without diffussers
If your only running one fluro tube, i would fit 2 leds to each fitting as it would be same running costs...... but buy some bloody good sun glasses

Ok, I will go with the doubles.
Do both prongs at each end of the tube need to be connected or just one? In the diagram in the first post it shows both ways.
