As Ray said Joe, Welcome to the Shaper Club
Woodlee i'm sure , will be back on deck soon but if you like I could download another stick with the info on it and send it to you. I think there might be a couple of stops for the original before it gets to you. Or would it be better if whoever has the stick adds any extra info they might have and sends it on. Any thoughts??

That makes me a new member of the "Shaper Owners's Club"

Now I have to figure out how to get it down here... Anyone coming from Coffs Harbour or surrounds [Sydney - deleted] to Victoria with a little space and weight (~350kg) capacity spare?
Otherwise it might be a little trip North in a Ute or with a trailer soon.

    Cheers,
    Joe
Hi Joe, Glad my research helped you out there. How much did you end up paying for the shaper ?

    Hi Eric,
thanks for the link to the tender!
As I mentioned in post #59 above, my tender of $120 was accepted. So all up it will be around $425 by the time its in my shed.
    Cheers,

That is excellent! less than half what I paid for mine delivered. I am still in the market for another shaper. Especially another Douglas or smaller sized one. The one at Macksville was more than my transport organisation abilities could extend to especially since I am in South Australia.

I hope it arrives all in one piece.

    Regards

    Eric

    Ray,
I heard a rumour the shaper & T&C grinder police struck town yesterday morning.

You wouldn't know anything about it would you????

I have organised to pick up that Macson Thursday pm. And wouldn't you know it; bludy thunderstorms predicted. I am sure they will happen as it's very black outside at the moment.

It would be s shame to see it get wet and cause "trailering" rust.

Hi Ken, geez, it's getting hard to get in and out of Ky without tripping the alarm system these days..

It's a shame you didn't move it yesterday, it would have been perfect weather for it. I've got to detour by there again tomorow on the way to Tongala. I'd be thinking you might need a tarp by the look of the forecast.

    Regards

Well, the old lady Macson rolled back to life this afternoon. Stamped on it is 52/4. Most castings were stamped with a 2 except the toolholder which was 4. Somebody got it wrong. So raise your glasses and toast her 60th birthday.
She cleaned up pretty well with little wear in the slides. The only replacement parts needed was the ratchet pawl on the table feed. It has had a crash in the past that obviously damaged the pawl and took a tooth off the gear. The tooth had been repaired and the pawl filed back (unfortunately with a slope backwards and it wouldn't feed either way. I chose to make a new unit which needed a few stroke of a file to fettle it in. Works ok.
I was a bit concerned about the old electrics but they kept the magic blue smoke in. The contactor switch is a bit hit and miss. Chatters some times; nothing other times and at others just fires up. I used cleaner on them but will have to have a rub over.
Runs as smooth as and is super quiet. No movement even on top speed and a slightly uneven floor. Gave it about half an hours runin to bed moving parts in again. Well that's my excuse anyway.

    Ken,
The switch on Blondie is similar, except it goes on ok but doesn't always turn of. I pulled it to bits, cleaned etc but still no fix. I gave up. Later i re-attached the switch to the machine, and it works fine. Turns out it don't work when its flat on its back (no dirty jokes please, yes Phil (steamwhisperer) ,i mean you)
