To be a factory, I'd have to make something in it
With 4 young kids I get to spend very little time in there, so nothing ever gets put away properly - I'm usually rushing to fix whatever I'm working on... which is why lately I've had to work on my cars on the slab outside the shed - I can't get them in the door at the moment
Another problem is that the roof is about 6m high, and there's no lighting (or power) in the back half of the shed, which has a lot to do with why it's more or less empty.
I've got the lights to put up, but without a cherry picker it's not a simple operation.
I tried using a step ladder on the roofrack of my 4x4 - but with it's soft suspension, standing on the top step of the swaying ladder while trying to hoist a heavy 400w lamp above my head and bolt it up just didn't feel completely safe

Here's mine, I was going to clean up, but maybe tomorrow...
It's 15mx7.5m Basic welding stuff, Mig, Tig, Stick, Forge and Foundry are outside
Machinery includes,
Mill, Lathe, Surface grinder, Tablesaw, Thicknesser, Bandsaw, various belt and disk sanders and linishers... (out of picture to the left)
Heat treatment furnace under construction, and of course the Metrology Department, small surface plate, and on the right (under the purple sheet) is an Avery Rockwell Hardness tester.
The other workshop is a 6mx6m electronics workshop (I mostly design industrial control systems)
Here's the forge. Nothing like belting red hot bits of metal to get rid of frustrations..
I'll clean up tomorrow, promise...
Regards
Ray

16m x 13.2m x 4.4m barn with 3 phase power 20m from my house.
Scene of metalworking for the main part but 1 wing is devoted to woodworking stuff.
Current project, a boat.
A photo of some of my machine tools. More in the house and main area of the barn.
Last photo is the boat steering gear. The US company wanted a stupid amount of money for it so I made it myself. 2" dia 2 TPI LH square thread. A Monarch CY lathe with auto-stops is a wonderful toy.

Well well well. I won't be putting any pictures of my shed up. How embarrassing would that be. You blokes have sheds!! I have what I would now call a cubicle with some bits in it. Outstanding sheds gentlemen.
However I will show you my workshop where I work.

Hi PDW,
Now that's a shed! I like the idea of having a woodworking "wing" ...
Not to mention... "A Monarch CY lathe with auto-stops is a wonderful toy."
Thanks for the pictures, I'd like to hear a bit more about the boat, I remember you were talking about it at the scraping weekend, maybe a new thread?
Regards

I've got donuts. There is some "real" sheds there, serious stuff.
1st photo shows my lathe, mill, press and a stack of crap littered around the place.
2nd photo shows my welding bench, TIG, Plasma and horizontal bandsaw and more crap, littered around the place.
Cheers

Good work Cooper. My first shed wasn't even a shed, it was an outside laundry! Then I upgraded to a 3mx1.5m carport in a unit with 3 other units. My pride and joy at the time (Mcmillian drill press) was chained to one of the supports so someone driving past couldn't knock it off!

Hoe big is the current shed at the moment? smaller or bigger than mine?
