Thanks for your good wishes.
Yes, machines in the new shed were purchased by me and dragged up there (deceased estate of a friend, who would be happy for me to have them). I have to sell a few things along the way to help with this reno (and sometimes survival!) but we are 80% of the way there. We are definitely on the way up.
There have a been a few times when I thought about throwing in the towel and just selling the old property 'as is', and instantly, something inside tells me that I can't give up, and the more effort I make now equals more happiness in the future.
If this thread is still going I will post new photos of the new 'megashed' in 12-18 months time, built without compromise. Life has run out of curveballs to throw at me!

Hi,
So here is my little slice of heaven.
Overall the shed is 15m x 8m x 2.7 at the eaves, but the front 6m is used as a garage which leaves me with 9 x 8 with a 3 x 2 corner missing (damn easements) . The Ceiling is insulated with aircell and the walls with bats and lined with 9mm MDF
If you think your shed is a mess you ain't seen nothin....
Standing at the door looking in
Woodworking storage, oops i mean bench. I've been cutting dovetails so i had to clear off a space near the vice.
Workboard which is about the only clearish horizontal surface in the place, Felder Saw/spindle and dust extractor hiding in the corner
Belt sander and more stuff...
Thicknesser/Jointer (actually it a top notch Yakaruda combo machine, made in Bulgaria....POS) "Ballbreaker" (hydraulic press, in which a friend absolutely destroyed a bowling ball whilst using it as a form, hence the name)and engine crane. The white cupboard is for our laundry but the house reno's got put on hold with the arrival of our second child.
My grinding bench, which got rudely moved to here making space for blondie. Yes, the behemoth in the corner is a home made 50lb drop hammer. I made it befor i owned a lathe so its a bit mix and match ish.
The machining corner, oxy bottles stored correctly and all....
A couple more random shots:
Probably my most treasured tool, but maybe not my favorite...thats just too hard to choose. My 350ld Swedish paperweight, can't remember the age but either 1916 or 1931 rings a bell..quite young as anvils go anyway. I have a second little one, 70lb but i thinks its under the house (with lots more junque, thats high class junk...)
As requested in the file 101 thread i'll post some damascus and sword work in a new thread, also the results of what the hammer can do. I have only had this shed for 2 years or so and still have to set up a nice dark leanto out the back for the forge.

Great stuff Ewan, plenty more room in there for a machine or two lol
Certainly interested in seeing more about that hammer.

Hi Ewan,
Nice workshop, it looks like the kind of place I would feel right at home..
I noticed a leg vise, an nice big anvil, and a drop hammer... what I'm not seeing is the forge... (I'm guessing that's outside)
Blondie looks right at home there.
Regards
Ray

Shed stuff
We built a new house and moved in about 10 months ago, first thing to get put up was a shed. It's only a 5x5 but it's big enough for me now, I don't do as much as I used to. I notice a lot of you fellas have shapers, so, I'll call the machine to the left of the drop saw a shaper. I made it in the early 90s and it's probably the most used tool in the shed, uses either a 9" angle grinder disc, a 12" chop saw blade or a 9" wood saw blade, it also has a fence. The motor came off a floor polisher and the bearing of an old Pope lawnmower. Other items are a drop saw, 8" bench grinder, stick welder and table with vice.

In this corner are two bench grinders, pedestal drill and belt sander.

And here we have the work table with hand tools in trays under the bench top, compressor underneath and a couple of tool boxes.
Attachment 204742
Last of all is my favourite toy, the lathe, cos it's new. Some steel storage drawers, some plastic trays and a couple of tool boxes for hand tools, micrometers, taps and dies, reamers, etc.

Believe it or not, I made a 4.8m boat trailer in this shed.
Steel and wood stock is kept on shelves overhead and I have another small garden shed attached to this one for other bits and pieces. Yes, I did clean it up for the photos, although normally I don't have to bother, when ever I mention I'm going to clean up the wife comes out and helps, lucky me.

Really nice set up Ewan,
You look like most of us here, with being set up to fix or make anything.
I have a 3.2m Robland panel saw and don't have the room to set it up now. I did have it set up in the middle of my shed, but got sick of working around it when I didn't use it much. It now sits dismantled in the corner and I use the smaller sliding table saw I built 20 plus years ago.

Boy I wish my shed still had that much spare room, LOL

Looks all great but christ a lot of those machines are that close to each other that they would either be covered in swarf or coolant from the other. Not a desired result from where I stand but very pretty.

Thanks Dave,
I do have a bit of floor space, and i'm sure i could create some more if i tried. I tend to work like a bit of a whirlwind, always moving on to a new space till i run out then i spend a few days cleaning. Every now and then i have the unfortunate pleasure of making a kitchen or other large item so i need the space to set out full size drawings and mock up. I only do these jobs when i need the coin, i'd rather not touch them. The last one i did because it paid for a concreter to do some work otherwise i'd have had to do it myself...no thanks.
I take it your talking about me and not Tongleh, his shed is just too clean....
Yes there is stuff shoe horned in at the moment, it sort of ended up that way with Blondie. I do however have a pallet jack and 15amp power points everywhere, so moving stuff around is easy. As you see it you can't even get the mill's full travel as the handweel hits the lathe. The little lathe is on wheels so i can just move it. The biggest problem is the wood dust. I cover the lathe and mill table with a drop cloth, but it still gets through sometimes. One day (If i had a dollar every time i said that) I will put a wall up and segregate the timber and steel, but its a ways down the list (though still a fairly high priority).
Nice shed Tongleh, I could never keep something so small so clean....How on earth do get your wife to help clean up, thats a real bonus Mine can't stand the dust...Although if i've been lacquering she hangs around for a smell.....

She just turned up in the shed one day and started sweeping, I didn't stop her. If I'm sprayin though she's gone, can't stand the smell. As for the shed, I hate looking for tools, after a while I start swearing and cursing and throwing things around, no patience anymore, much easier to keep it clean, between jobs anyway. When I'm working it's usually a mess. Now I have to ask you: How on earth do you find anything in there, that would drive me batty.

You look pretty well set up there Stewart. Did you make/buy that sand blaster?
I have a compressor tank here I am going to make one up one day. The brother in law dropped it off about 3 years ago and it's still sitting there, LOL
