Cool Gee what shall I do today? I know, I'll try to walk on air!!

Yep, Tried to walk on air this morning. After crumpling into a fat heap with a twisted right ankle, I've come to the conclusion that I'll leave such miracles to others and remember to watch where I'm going, especially when there are stairs around

Needless to say - OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and just that's my ego after having to be put in a wheelchair to get from the Nurse's office to my office and to a car to be driven home.

Stupid Stupid Stupid!!!!!! Sigh, oh and the ankle is sore too.

At least I get to catch up on watching my taped woodwork shows

So much for getting out to the shed after work this week to finish a camphor laurel box for a friend's birthday this weekend

Moral of the story, for Gawd's sake watch where you're walking.

    Cheers
    Wendy

Sorry to hear about the fall.

Do we dare ask what you walked off or into?

Be careful, I know of a bloke who backed off a scaffold, landed on his feet, and fractured his heel bone. From a height of 5 feet. I was in the hospital bed opposite with the same injury after trying the same trick off a cliff. One of those 'oh oh' moments that turns into 8 weeks on crutches and a lifetime of niggling pain.

    Hi SilentC

I was walking down into an undercroft area, where there are two lots of 2-steps, the first lot were fine and I forgot about the second lot and looked elsewhere, went to step on what I thought was ground, but was truly air Total height, gee barely a foot I think.

Doesn't matter, it was enough to make me loose balance with the foot landing on the edge of the shoe, turn the ankle and once it started, I just let myself crumple any old way rather than try to recover from it - think I even had a go at an upside down cockroach impersonation as well. Can't remember exactly.

    It wasn't an 'oh oh' - rather an "OhHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhh **** ********* ***** ********* **** ******* ***** plonk splat OUCH!!! cockroach impersonation...."

Had ice and a bandage on it within 10 minutes of it happening. Am now sitting here with the foot, bandaged, iced up and higher than my heart, being good (for once )

    sigh!

    Thanks Groggy

Me too DJ, Me too, I could end up sharing the night shift for once

Aah, now there's your problem. The ice (not too much) should be in your scotch.

And being good isn't all it's cracked up to be either.

Hope you're back in the shed soon.

Give your quack clear instructions about getting you back to shed in record time and listen carefully.

    Sorry to hear it, Wendy.

This is when you give the other half clear instructions about where to position a table'n'chair on the back porch and which items to bring out of the shed - things like piles of sandpaper, finishes and unfinished projects.

About the only time I've ever finished anything to an "Ooh Aah" sheen was when I was in a hip-cast...

I was going to say "enjoy the break", but realised it's probably only a sprain!

Hop to it girl, there's things to be done!

    Cheers,

    P
