    Default this is gross

OK, maybe not as gross as some of the other threads in here. I just plonked down on the floor to have a cuppa after a morning in the garage and discovered one of my cats licking my reusable ear plugs. Now I like cats, but I have to draw the line at this, especially when I usually give them a quick lick myself before inserting them (which many people also find a bit gross). Now I'm thinking how long has this been going on? Has she been sneaking out to the kitchen table (the universal catch-all) in the middle of the night to feast on ear wax? Best not to think about it too much or where that tongue's been!
(Must remember to wash them b4 I start work again and put them up somewhere safe!)

    Cheers
    Michael

I think when you have pets a little bit of your hygiene goes out the window. My shepherd loves giving daddy kisses on the ear, however you need to wonder how good that is after you catch her licking her back side to the extent that she froths at the mouth.

Anyone wish to kiss my ear?

Yeah, I like the idea! Disposable cats. Way to go.

Yep, cats are weird when it comes to stuff like that...

For example, they don't shy away from bad smells - instead, every smell is measured on a single smell scale that ranges from boring, to very, very interesting... Like, they'll walk up to a completely fresh "bog", or a dead animal, and have an initial quick smell and say to themselves "Hmm, that's interesting. That could be bad...", and then they have another longer smell, and then say to themselves "Yeah, that's definitely bad. I better double check by just how much...", and then they have another really, really deep smell - until they almost pass out - and then they say "YEAH! That's virtually deadly! That stinks! I nearly just killed myself!" and so on. A smell that ranks as only just "good" to them, is actually less interesting to them than a smell that ranks as either "fairly bad" or "very bad", and so on...

    Best Wishes,
    Batpig.

I cant stand a cat licking my skin but no probs with dogs.

Batpig, you have clearly spent a lot of time observing cats and their habits.

    OOOO YUK.

I am constantly surprised how some peoples ideas of hygene seem to go west when a pet is involved.

lets face it pets are filthy things especilay cats.

You will convince me when you can show me a cat that showers twice a day, & that thing that cats do with their toungue isnt washing.

as to the matter of sucking on your own ear plugs..... YUK.

that is a good way to be heading for an ear infection, there is lits of filth that does not belong in your ear.

I can see why many employers will not issue or permit reusable ear plugs.

    oh yuk

    cheers
Any thing with sharp teeth eats meat.
    Most powertools have sharp teeth.
    People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.

I found that my dog chewed on my ear buds for the MP3 player, after I had had them in my ears! I was kind of wondering why they sounded so rubbish.

Now for the gross part (and this definitely beats yours!). Does everybody have a bucket handy?

My dog eats the cat's poo.

Not really to the point, but it does make you wonder what they put in pet food to make it attractive to cats!
