Half face P2/P3 or equivalent mask / filters not made in China
Hey all,
As above. Can anyone suggest any masks and/or replacement filters that do not manufacture in China? I have asked 3M and their response has been extremely cagey, any others I should take a look at?
Cheers.

Good luck with that...
Just out of curiosity (and you don't have to answer), is this a political, economic or quality based request?
EDIT: Well, apparently it wasn't as hard to find as I thought; mask made in Poland, filters made in USA 3M Mask respirator and P2 Filter pack | Seton Australia Finding something that's actually in stock however...

Seems a bit that way.
Mostly quality but it is a result of the changing political landscape. I have first hand experience of how the CCP is dealing with manufacturing of "foreign" goods, especially goods in demand in the past 12 months and it's terrible. You'd be shocked how bad it has become, so I am looking for alternatives.

I saw that post but many of them assemble outside of China but still use the filters made there. I'm still waiting for another response from 3M, will update from there.

BTW just because the Package sAYS "NOT MADE IN CHINA" doesn't means much.
Chances are the filter media will still be made in china.
There is a prototype "woollen filter" media that has recently been invented and made in Australia.
It's supposed to be very efficient and reusable.
Not sure where they are with the production - next year mate!!!

Yes, Bobl, I am very aware of that fact - this is why I am asking. Many companies are getting cagey with how they represent Chinese made components, especially these days. Asking the local experts first Got a link for that woolen media at all? I'd be interested in that.

I just looked at my box of Miniso supposedly Japanese surgical which I have tested and they are indeed very good masks.
On the box it says in large print:
Manufactured for : Miniso Japan
Designed by : Miniso Japan
And in very fine print at the bottom of the box:
Made in China!
I believe Australia's only mask manufacturer also uses media made in china.

Can say with some certainty that quite a lot of 3M's respiratory protection products are made in China - especially the product that comes to Australia, I know that a lot of product that two 40 foot containers that were about to leave China for Australia were re-directed to the U.S. under Trump's war effort legislation or whatever it was called.
I can't be 100% sure but I think that you would be fairly safe with Sundstrom filters not being made in China.

Indeed. 3M's claims the units are produced in US or EU. My reply was to question if any components, specifically the filter medium, are manufactured in China for the products available in AU. I am awaiting a reply.

This story Trump and 3M reach deal to allow N95 face masks to be exported to Canada | World news | The Guardian sourced from the Guardian suggests that 3M brand N95 masks manufactured in the US using Canadian pulp in the filter are exported into Canada and Latin America, the rest of the world (including NZ? & Australia?) is supplied from 3M plants in China.
I think "good luck" getting an Australian supplier of the filter material.regards from Alberta, Canada
