Man do I hate the word Cancer....

And I was carrying on like a pork chop over being 2 weeks & 6 days to go...sorry guys but I am going to count down now with a different attitude....

Now I will design each day, so when I get down there, I will do first days work for Eddie, then next day for Ben....so on & so on, I will dedicate each days work to whom ever requests it, then come in and IM anyone who requested my days dedication, exactly what I did during that session of woodwork.....

hopefully this will make me more humbling & remind me that I have nothing to be self indulgent or morrose about. Please keep your health first at all times, kindest regards Kerry

I have just returned to the internet after two weeks in bed, and it's good to hear your news regarding your health problems.
Also, happy birthday, and I hope you enjoy the day a little bit more than normal days. Had chemo again on Wednesday and going prettygood this time, no side effects and my blood count is coming down more, it's now 600., which is a long way from 8 months ago when it was 1966.
The big problem during the last two weeks has been i put the #2 and 3 rib out, and it was rubbing against the #1 which I originally cracked 8 months ago, was OK until it decided to go into a spasm and I ended up in the bed screaming with pain for a couple of hours until the Dr. gave me an injection of pethadine and some tablets to finally quieten it down. So I was out of bed for three hours Wednesday for my Chemo and have been out again today for about 2 hours.
It sounds like you are really on top of your problem at the moment, so hang in there and enjoy your sculpture work,

Ohno, many happy returns (belated) for your 26th birthday - it is pleasing to read you are making a recovery - wish you well and hope you enjoyed your blissful day and many more to come.

Ron it is sad to hear of your pain and suffering but hope for you that your chemistry follows a similar path to ohno and soon you feel a relief and can celebrate the simple joys so many of us take for granted.

What comes to mind now from the polishers handbook is "God never takes from us one day spent woodworking" - may you have many pleasant woodworking days ahead. I know tomorrow when I resume my day with the bookcase making I will take my time and enjoy the journey - I have had enough of rushing frowning and redoing things

Hi Ron. Very sorry to hear about you been in pain. Ribs especially. The pain must be so central to you that it affects almost everything you do. I know because head pain is sort of similiar i would imagine.

Great to hear about the low counts though
how bout playing some Limbo music each time you get a blood test?

Very happy to say that for the last few days i have spent some time working on my sculpture. What i have to contend with now is extremely low energy levels. I can work and work and then...bamn, iam tired.
Could be a lot worse of course but its going to take some exploring to work out exactly whats what. I know my lungs a re damaged for a start.

Spent another several hours work on my piece today and sure enough, i still havent cut myself.

Still when your talking about potentially bleeding to death i guess it is better to err on the side of caution

For the first time in my life someone has said iam normal

I have just got the results for my latest blood test and my blood counts are in normal ranges. Except for the red cells which are down which is not unexpected.
So it looks like i have survived a massive overdosing of chemotherapy and can get on with simply living with a highly agressive form of cancer. ahhhhhh

And... as a bonus whilst waiting for my appointment i finally came up with an idea for a sculpture which i will donate to the Radiotherapy department of the Austin Hosptial.
Its hard to say exactly how much they help me in my fight against cancer but anyone who offeres me free coffee and the only thing they ever ask of me is to lie down and stay as still as possible wins a special spot in my heart

wow. And last night i had another really good idea for a sculpture. IT'll take a while to work out the particulars and whether i should do it but i think iam going to be busy for a while.
