    Default RACAL POWERED DUST MASK

I have had my faithful Racal Powered Dust Mask for some years. I probably should have worn it more often, truth be known. I am after a new filter for it but I can't find a supplier
I looked at Carrole's and Carba-Tec but alas no one seems to have them. Am I now the owner of a prehistoric machine? Ebay didn't have anything either so where do I go from here?

Can someone point me in the right direction.....please
    Just do it!

    Kind regards Rod

Thanks Jim I will give them a try. Blackwoods also have a filter about thr right shape but have no idea if it will fit. It seems Racal have been taken over by 3M. Could be in for a "run around"

Thanks for the link Bruce. I tried your link but it wouldn't connect but I was able to get onto them at
http://www.airwaveamerica.com/. I had a good look at what they are offering and I think I may have found some filters. When I get a chance I will photograph my respirator and Email them with some numbers off the thing. My set up was bought in 1996 so parts may be bordering on rocking horse poo

Edit....Mmmm that link will only work (with Chrome) if you copy it and use it away from the Forum???

    Default Racal Dust Mask

Sorry the link did not work. I have NO computer ability at all. Airwave have continued to support Racal Respirators since Racal were sold to 3M.
    Good luck.

Thanks Bruce, don't worry, my computer skills are probably no better than yours
As I said earlier they seem to be the only crowd that looks like they may have something fit my Racal. I really only need a couple of filters. If/when the battery goes I think I will get them rejuvenated by Accupac. They did a couple of Ryobis for me some time ago that I was quite happy with

I will have to look over the mask to establish what its catalogue number is. I bought it in 1995. Yeh that surprised me....I didn't think I have had it that long.

I have gotten up off my butt and have details and pix of the Racal Respirator. Yes it was surprising that the mask was bought in 1995 because it is actually 9/96! (very observant are't I)
On the cover of the air filter box there the numbers 020-00-38 then under that MM045400 09/96 These are shown in the photos as well as the mask.
Hopefully someone may have a filter to suit. That is really all I need. If I could get a couple then I will be right for sometime. If/when the battery goes I would go to Accupac to rebuild the battery pack.

Its a DM4 don't think I have much for them.
I bought my Airstream in '84 and a DM4 in the late 90s.
Ill have a scrounge in the shed tomorrow but I'm not hopeful.

    Default Filter for Racal.

I have a new filter to suit plus a few of the pre filters.
The filter is $30 and the pre filters $5 each.
    Plus postage.

Default Replacement Visor for RACAL Dustmaster MKII DM4

    Hi

here I am in December 2018 with a very old Racal Dustmaster Mk II DM4 dust mask. Looks identical to the pics posted above.

Still going strong although the battery pack died some years ago. I opened up the pack and replaced the rechargeable battery pack with 2 (or 3?) rechargeable batteries that I bought from Jaycar in Canberra. Worked fine! If anyone is interested I could open up the battery pack to see what I did with the new batteries, and if I wired them up inseries or parallel and could supply pics.

My question is: where can I buy a replacement for the transparent 8" visor, which is quite scratched now. Part number 049-02-05P.

I live in Weetangera ACT Australia.
