I have worn something similar. Way back when I worked on rig tender vessels it was just too hot and sticky up north to wear wellies on deck but rules were we had to have safety footwear on. The answer was the scupper boot. Cut the seaboot down to ankle high and cut holes so the seawater can run out. It still had the toe cap so all good and safe. More than 20 years before crocks were around too.

I think that's what the socks are for!
I hate the way the holes in Crocs are always aligned with the gap between your toes, and when you drop a blob of molten solder it always magically goes right through the hole without touching the sides.
If they made basketballs of solder I'd be a scoring wizard.
