    Default Recall

It's difficult to get through to these people, but when you do, you'll receive a new table and a blade guard assembly for your vintage Craftsman RAS all free of charge.
I'm not young enough to know it all!

I have had success so far in that they have acknowledged my e-mails and online query.
Reply was to wait a few days and the despatch would contact me to confirm delivery details.
    Fingers crossed and waiting.

    Default Ras

From the time I ordered the kit until the time I received it, I had forgotten about it. I was at work and SWMBO called and asked what I had ordered now. It all came in 3 big boxes delivered by UPS.

A table and guard? I thought it'd just be a new guard.
Any chance of a photo of what you got?
I am in Australia so I am dubious as to where they have a cut off limit to send stuff.
I will wait to see what happens.

WOW, great service from the Emmerson people.
Checked with them after several e-mails.
Guard kit (new table, supports and guard) sent 27Jul received at my door on morning of 3Aug. All in perfect condition.

I am so pleased and appreciative. Can't wait to get it fitted and tuned up.

Default Radial Arm Saw Guard kit

What did you use for an email address for Emerson, I submitted request order online, but have not received any response from them. My dad died last fall and I have just brought his saw home here. Looking around online, I found that there is a recall and a guard kit.
They did not use or have a computer, so he never knew about the recall.

I really want to get the kit..

    Default Update on guard kit

Well I'm back from my holiday and tried to fit the guard kit.
Couldn't figure why there was a 4" gap on the back of the table top, leaving a nice hole where all the sawdust would fall into!!!!
So went right back to the very front page of the kit manual that came with it, to double check. Found out the kit is NOT for my model number....
The kit delivered does match the search engine on the Emmerson Tool Co (http://www.radialarmsawrecall.com/) recall page, but when you read the instruction page to check the model numbers the kit will fit it doesn't match my machine model number.

Will now have to go through the process to find out what they can do.
Bloody frustrating I can tell you.

    Default Hi Lyle

Hope you had a nice Holiday.... Got my kit the following week when you replied.. I didn't use the table top as such. I had build the table top my self from the old table top measurements with some changes and a laminated top. So all I used was the guard system and everything worked fine. I've used it for a number of projects already.

I hope you get it straighten out with them. They didn't even call or write, email me that they were shipping the kit.. I was working on a school project for my wife (5th grade teacher) when FEDEX showed up and this young girl started trying to pull the kit box up to my garage. I wish they were a lot more communicative with us........

These people (Emmerson Tool Co ) are on the ball. I have a reply with the remedy already.
Apparently I needed to leave the original rip fence in place as the new guard kit needs more room at the back to clear the fence. Leaving the original fence in place creates that space.
They even sent a nice diagram to detail the table top pieces.

Back to the setting up tonight
