In much of the NE States, they are up for a hard time.
No power for a week and winter snowstorms are upon them.
Some hotels with power can book all the rooms even though
the prices have gone from $79/night to $400/night.

My wife and I have a fascination of the weather that is experienced in the US. OK we probably only see and hear the worst of cases but it seems that no where is really safe. The Mississippi can flood any where from top to bottom, hurricanes aren't confined to the lower warmer states as we have seen with Sandy then there is the threat of twisters any where from the Gulf right up to the bottom of Canada. Then on top of all these perils is heavy snow and blizzard storms isolating tons at times.

I am glad I am here in Aus where we can only get floods, bush fires cyclones occasional big winds, dust storms that effect capital cities man eating sharks around the coast, deadly snakes in land, spiders that will ruin your day, dingoes that are ever present, wild pigs in big numbers.......

I know I was being a bit flippant but no one can be safe when nature decides to have a tizzy.
Any time is a bad time when nature strikes back but when its around Christmas time it really makes you think

Sandy's little tizz will take a long long time for people to get back to normality
    Just do it!

    Kind regards Rod
