Only just found out about Lewis's departure from us a short time ago. Another good man taken from us.

To Dot and the family. Pauline and I extend our most sincere condolences.

We will miss his visits to the factory and unending offers of assistance as I'm sure will many others who knew him.

There will have been a lot of other good woodies up there waiting for him and there's a few others who will catch up with him in the not too distant future. I'm sure he's in a really happy pain free place amongst new and old friends. I bet it won't be long before he's organising woodturning, carving and tool collecting clubs in the great beyond.

To those wishing to say a final farewell.

Lewis's funeral will be held at:

    Tuckers Highton Funeral Chapel
    4 - 32 Province Boulevard
    Highton

    2.00 pm, Wednesday December 20

    Neil

I met Lewis at Geelong Vintage Rally, January 2013 when he was demonstrating wood turning and also promoting the forum (and the sponsor's product).
While I did not speak to him as such, the brief encounter left an impression with me. His ability to bring the gear to do wood turning as a display was impressive, as was the way he comunicated with his audiance.
    He will be missed.

I first met Lewis at Philip Island when he set his lathe up next to mine. Dressed in his white bio-hazard cover-alls he started to share his stories with me, he loved to chat and pass on his knowledge of woodworking. After we chatted he chattered some more. Over the years we met several times, he was always positive and his enthusiasm was uplifting. Lewis had an open heart and would often talk of his family, his love for Dot was obvious. Sometimes he would repeat the same stories and that could test me a little. Now that he has left us, I wouldn't mind listening to him tell one of his yarns again. You will be greatly missed. One of Mother natures true gentlemen. Vale Lewis.

Not a bad philosophy - to wander through life on your own terms, leaving everyone you met better off for having known you.

One of the people I first met when we started this business was Lewis, he was put a bit offside as he was selling the P&N chisels and the Hermes abrasives, Over time he could see that I was a friend and he helped us enormously , promoting us where he went to let people know there was an alternative to the big guys and a turner to boot.
He had a passion for woodworking that would be hard to beat. Wherever you went someone would ask do you know that guy with the big glasses and beard. he was a legend in his own time.

It is with deep sorrow in hearing of him passing but we knew it was only going to be time, he put up a strong fight till the end. Cancer takes no prisoners. He will be missed by all who have met him, I am sure everyone has a story about lewis.

Our sincere condolences to Dot and family
