Default How do you put on weight????

Just back from the bush where I spent 2 weeks fencing, spraying weeds and mucking around with Mal's new bandsaw.

Back in Sydney. weighed myself....... down to 75Kg. Used to be 88.
    I'm 188cm tall.

No wonder my pants keep falling down.

I eat a extra large meal in the evening, good breakfast, maccas for lunch, or some sandwiches, don't snack. Have a few beers each night. Work in an office in Sydney.

What do you have to do to keep weight on???????

    Advice appreciated.

    Greg

    Weight?

Only put weight on when I pick something up and lose it when I put it back down.

Ask SWMBO, and she'll say the beer has done something about my tum tum. But she's wrong. I eat what I like when I like and as often as I like.
I make things, I just take a long time.

Before I turned 40 I couldn't answer, had the same problem.

But from my limited experience the formula is:

    1. Injure your knee, requiring 4 operations to sort of / kind of / almost / fix.

    2. Lift something you shouldn't and blow out two discs in your back.

After that, all you need to do is stand in the same room a a doughnut to put on weight.

I think braces would be the perfect sartorial detail for the modern lumberjacking male. Or go buy a new wardrobe!

Be less active and more lazy.

I tried to put on weight once. Ate everything in sight and sat on the couch for a month and only gained 4kg. Couldn't be bothered doing that anymore and lost in all again in just a few weeks. Some people are naturally skinny

Keep active and you will maintain your ideal weight. seems like yours is not 88kg.

I'm about the same: 187cm 72kg. I used to be 84kg before I decided to stop being lazy and deskbound at the end of 2004. Now, I make sure I exercise every day, and every second day is harder than the 'off' days. I've racked up nearly 3 million metres on the rowing machine, and I'm fitter than I have been since high school.

Buy new clothes, celebrate. Book in for a regular checkup at the doc's. We men tend to ignore our health, and there are some things that shouldn't be left to chance, especially past 50...

eat more fuel than you burn off and you will easily put weight on.....your body seems to be running smooth at the moment with what you eat and your size ...I am a little concerned on what your eating though....have you had your cholesterol checked lately??...my body is about the same as yours ..183cm...just on 80kg .....and yes I lost a bit .......my cholesterol is almost on the edge requiring tablets ...thats bad ....you dont want that ..its the kind of stuff that hardens the arteries and gives us a stroke/heartattack..........have it checked 6monthly ......be happy with yourself and your size ....buy new clothes .....in the long run your much better off

Beer, chips and cheese did it for me.

Took me ages to loose it too.

Default I'll see what winter brings

    Thanks for comments.

I've cut back on the beer and red wine, so maybe the appetite is falling as well.

And I guess there is a genetic side to hyper people...we don't put on weight

But a loss of around 10kg over a few weeks did seem a lot, and it wasn't really a hot Christmas at Rollands Plains. I thought muscle weighed more than 'fat' therefore hard work would have increased my weight.

Back to potatoes and less cucumbers, lettuce and other salad stuff.

    Regards
    Greg
