    Default 2 more slimlines

Did another couple of slimlines today, and still can't get over the difference that a good lathe makes. My sanding time has dropped by about 75%, and yet the finish has improved.

The first one is curly jarra finished to 1000, a quick rub with EEE, and 1 coat of shellawax glow. The acrylic was 120, 240, 600, and a rub with EEE. Jeeze, the acryics are easy to make, and finish.

Looking forward to the show, so I can pickup some decent kits.

Nice pens Chris, it is amazing how much more enjoyable turning can be on a good lathe.

That's good... you'll need the increased productivity to support your habit.
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

Now ya got a better lathe your gonna spend more on more kits just to keep in stock. Nice pens good shine I like the acrlics for that.
Here is the warning but probley too late for you.
If you are thinking of trying pen turning
    Don't do it!!!!!!
In my opinion pen kits should come with a medical warning.....like cigarettes.

WARNING......Pen turning is more addictive than cocaine!
WARNING......Pen turning will flatten your wallet.

I tried to break the habit. I voluntarily attended a PA (Penturners Anonymous) meeting. It was a diffcult and embarrassing thing to do. I had to stand up in front of a room full of strangers and say" I am a pen turner". Then you have to sign a pledge. The pen was in kit form.
    buggar...... Hooked Again.
I have to go now, got some blanks I need to prepare.

I have done so much for so long with so little I can now do almost anything with nothing!
