There was a discussion between my swapee and I that maybe .... just maybe it has been held up in customes for some reason BUT it should not have taken anywhere near as long as this!!!!

Usually things go smoothly.. but when they fail, they can do so spectacularly.

Got sent someone a pen and didn't hear anything. it came back 8 months later.
It was stamped "Undeliverable: No such address"

The guy has had that address for years!

And the kicker? His address was a PO Box.

I also have had a similar thing where my folks sent me a parcel one year to an address I had been in for 3 or so years and it was returned to them saying undeliverable due to incorrect postal address. I looked at it when they took a photo of ht eparcel and when I took that to the post office to complaine they said there must have been something obstructing either our post box OR the street sign. I wouold have thought that irrelevent of street sinage Posties should know the streets in a MAJOR city and that they dont change! As far as the obstruction of out post box?? the only thing that could have been obstructing it would have been the cateracts in the posties eyes!!!!

For six month ago I was asked by a email from a guy i California, USA to send him a pen in overnight delivering. I live at the west coast of Norway, Europe - and it would take 2 week to deliver it.
There is at lest 4 places named Norway in USA, all from 2 houses to little villages.

I am thinking someone should invent a device to place in packages that has a satellite link to track where the package has gotten to. It would be interesting to find where these things get to. here might be some really interesting stories here.

    Hey There,

Contacted my swappee (CrashMPH) Michael, my pen hasn't arrived so he went to the PO and see where it is, they couldn't find it so they are paying out the Insurance and he was going to do another one for me over the weekend and get that off to me this week. Sounds like their postal system is the same as ours.

Received my pen from Fireman Sam last week. Just getting around to posting it. He had it done long ago but I had him hold it until I finished the ones I sent him. Mostly my procrastination and poor time management for being late. Although I did almost slice my finger off the last week of February (improper use of a wood chisel). Took 3 weeks before I could turn again. US postal service also screwed up and I ended up getting the package back a week after I sent it. Hopefully he will have his pens and blanks shortly. I couldn't get a good picture of the cigar but the burl is fantastic in person. Titanium Sierra dressed in Unknown Burl from Wa. Black Titanium Cigar dressed in Red Malley Burl.

I received my parcel from Amos (woodenink) and WOW ! Not just a pen engraved with my name but , two , engraved with my name . That's not all ! They were in a beautiful box , engraved with my name inlaid with gold . This makes my little lift box look like scraps off the floor in my shop ! The pens are fountain and rollerball , closed end , and one has a hidden clip . Made from Mallee Burl , with a beautiful finish , as you can see . I am a lucky guy ! Thank you Amos !!

I think Amos has done you proud Charles, particularly considering the circumstances.
    Well done Amos

I am wondering just for curiosity sake...How many people did not get a pen from their partner? I ask merely for information, not to make judgments or anything. This is my first pen swap and I have heard some people don't follow through. I am just wondering what the percentage might be.

I received a PM from my partner that his pen finally arrived. It took a month, which is ridiculous, but it made it there O.K. However, he has fallen very ill and won't be able to post the photograph for a while.

    Get well soon, Gerry.

Default Pen from Aussie Day Swap

Finally got a chance to take some pictures of the nice pen and blanks I got from David. The pen is a Sierra and is dressed in She Oak. The blanks are self explanatory. Got to get busy and turn them into some nice pens.
