Default More 30.06 Mini Rifle Catridge Pens

For upcoming Gun Shows that uses a modified Cross refill that I modify myself and give the customer a few spare refills and let them know I can supply more if they run out of refills.
I have found when modifying the Cross refills that they are only half full anyways.

To extend or retract the refill, you just twist the projectile nib while holding the casing.
To change the refill, pull the projectile nib out of the casing neck and unscrew the Cross refill.

I use key ring kit finials that I have left over from making projectile key rings to fill the primer hole.

Cleaned and polished and applied 4 coats of lacquer using my "Dipping Method".

These have been great sellers to the ladies who attend the gun shows.

    Les

Good thinking on this model Les, I sometimes get asked for smaller pens but the credit card size does not always appeal Cheers ~ John

I like it Les I like it alot BUT as usual i have a few questions.

do you use fired casings that have expanded a little? or do you bore them out a little to make it able for the projectile to turn inside the casing to operate it ?

Next id when you say using your dipping method is that the same procedure just using the metal laquer instead / or is there a different way to do bullets ?

    Cheers Ian

    Ian,

    1. I sand the inside of the casing neck with a piece of 320x wrapped around a dowel and sand enough material from the projectile boat tail so it will turn freely inside the casing neck.

    2. I use the same procedure, just plug the projectile nib hole with Bee's Wax and "Wick" the excess lacquer from the projectile nib.
