Default .300 Winchester Magnum Bullet Pens

Had a request for a .300 Winchester Magnum bullet pen. These cartridges are both longer and fatter than a .30-06 Winchester.

As I had never done one of these, had the cartrdiges in stock for quite a while now, I decided to make 2 different ones. Both use my Aust Army Jungle Camo blanks

First one I used the Cigar centre band, which is slightly bigger in diameter than the .300 Win Mag primer end, but tapers down to it.

On the second one I used a primer end of the .300 Win Mag

Both use the Cigar Transmission and a Parker refill

Nice work Fred i have made one of them myself as you may remember because you made me some bushes but love the look of yours. I am really impressed with the one using the primer end of the casing did you cut that off with your metal lathe ? i have never had much luck cutting any of the ends off.

    Cheers Ian

Thanks Ian, no I don't part the primer ends off on the metal lathe, they tend to distort because the wall thickness isn't all that great.

I cut the end off, a bit longer than needed, on my wood bandsaw, then trim it to length on the metal lathe. Guess you could do that on the wood lathe as well as it is only soft brass.

    Thanks mate.

For a man that doesn't own a gun I certainly seem to play with lots of bullets!
