Default 5 Sierra BT & TG

This week I finished 5 Sierra Black Titan & Titan Gold

These 5 pens are from left to right:
Israeli Olive 45 degrees cut, African Rosewood, Israeli Olive x-cut, Norwegian Lilac x-cut and Amboyna Burl.

The pens are sanded to 12 K MM and treated with BLO & CA.

    Thanks for looking and comments.

    Oistein,

A nice set of Quintuplets you have made. The Sierra is my bread and butter, the one I sell the most of. It is a comfortable pen, but deceptive in weight and sits so well in the hand. It is hard to choose a favorite for they all have special qualities that make them stand out on their own.

The first Olive wood pen at 45 degrees, the grain wild and swirling the dark lines of the grain highlighting the twisting patterns.

The African Rosewood with the colors of a soft pink and cream with a few darker grain patterns showing the direction of it's growth.

The cross cut Olive wood, the hardest cuts to turn of them all in my opinion, it shows the grain and age in all it's glory. You have shown respect to the timber and it shows in the end result.

The cross cut Norwegian Lilac once again the same as the Olive wood difficult to turn but a delicate wood with soft grain features and subtle look. I have a pen made from Canadian lilac and it mas similar colors.

last but not least the Amboyna Burl just goes bang, the rich red of swirling patterns with dark eyes looking out to seethe surroundings and it has a warmth and glow that just invites you to just hold it in the palm of your hand and explore every part of the pen.

It has been a long time since i have made comment on work, I am almost back. These comments are only what i see and what was felt in my heart. Oistein have been following your work for a while and you have always shown respect with the mediums that you use and combination of platings used. Hope to see many more to come.

    Cheers
    Darren
