Accelerator pump pack replacement
Hey All,
I have one of these CA accelerator pump packs 2oz accelerator and an 8oz bottle to refill it with. Only problem is, the pump pack seems to have gone kerput. First the lid keeps coming off - I was trying to live with that - but now the atomiser seems to have stopped atomising, and I just get a stream instead.
Anyone know of a good, cheap substitute sprayer? I imagine any good cleaning spray bottle, such and Windex etc should be Ok shouldn't it, although I'd prefer a smaller bottle size than say 500ml. I'll just clean it out, and refill with the accelerator.
Thanks. Russell.Pen Affair Craft Supplies - Cheapest Pearl Ex & Pemo Polymer Clay in Australia

I used to buy the same, but found the bottles were stuffed byt the time I had used up the refill bottle and always bought them as a set.
Now I buy it buy the 0.5ltr and not yet found a good solution. I have had some success with those cheap spray bottles from the $2 shop, some last for ages , some 1 day . Gawdelpus (John) had given me a few to try, hopefully I'll have more success with them.
You need a mist, not a spray, so the Windex etc ones are probably no good.Neil____________________________________________Every day presents an opportunity to learn something new

Just a thought. Anyone tried a perfume atomizer ?. They don't hold a lot, but the spray is super misty. Get them from most big chemist shops. I tried, unsuccesfully yesterday to smuggle the wife's empty perfume atomizer into the shed, but got sprung sneaking through the back door.

go try your local chemist , look for the travel toiletries for a compact spray bottle , i work in a hardware store and we have them in 3 packs bloody cheap , i have put some in a bottle and seems to work fine and the size is about the same as this 2oz accelerator

Thanks Neil, good to know the spray bottles are no good. I'll checkout Crazy Clarks next time I'm passing and see what they've got. I could always pull out my airbrush tattoo guns and chuck it in their. That'd certainly do the job, but I think the chances of wrecking the airbrushes is a bit risky

Yeah that looks like a good substitute. I'll have to keep an eye out locally.
In the meantime, I was desperate for something today, and I found my son had 3 glasses cleaner bottles from the optometrist (he goes through glasses pretty quick, unfortunately ). So I emptied one into the others and have been using it this afternoon, and it's been working a treat. I'd like some spares though, so I'll keep an eye out for the ones you posted.
Thanks for checking it out.

There are many pumps around that will work straight up, but you need to check after a few days/weeks, I often find the mechanism dissolves
