    Default Advice needed

OK one for the brains trust. My daughter is graduating from uni next month and I wanted to do a fountain pen and roller ball pen set as a graduation present. The problem is that she likes quite a slim pen and I want to do it in a Rhodium finish but I can't find that particular combination. The sedona is about the right size but I can't find it in Rhodium.

Any suggestions as to an alternate kit?

    cheers

    W.H,

A funny thing happenned to me a neat guy approached me about a year ago and said he would like to make his speciality trademark casting to honour my wifes bravery in the face of adversity, he said what was her favourite colour.
Now as she is my best friend for 60 yrs you would think I would be a dictionary on this hell no I was wrong. When I asked her favourite colour it turned out Red, wow was I wrong.

My suggestion is to qualify by showing your daughter a series of pens for her opinion re different kits coatings, colours etc it may reveal she feels differently to you on choices. If she thinks this about someone else it could be revealing.
We have five daughters and surprises are the norm and with my son all of them differ.

Have success , Kind regards Peter.

Totally agree Peter. We've been through the first part of it and she doesn't like the gold look so the "silver look" it is and as I want it to last a long time I suggested the rhodium plating which she has looked at and agrees with. We've done timber selection as well and now it's just the kit to sort out, which is where my trouble is coming in.

Yep I thought of that one too Neil but Timberbits has discontinued the fountain pen version so I ruled it out , otherwise it would have been perfect. Ive done a few in the rollerball version and reckon they come up a treat, especially if you do a custom finial for them.

    cheers

Dam, I only saw the heading.

Try CWS Store - Sedona Pen Kits | Carroll's Woodcraft Supplies

Edit: Oops, you are after Rhodium, not Blk Ti, I'll keep looking

I thought the JR Gent 2 was slightly larger, but just checked a few I have here, and they are the same OD as a Baron/Sedona. So try here Jr. Gent 2 If they are out of stock, I'm pretty sure I've got a few here to help you out, just thought GPW delivery is probably cheaper than petrol driving here

Champion. I made the same mistake as you thinking it was larger. I'll show her pics and see if she likes it. Looks like the Jr Statesman and JR Marshall are the same size as well although the JR Marshall dosen't have a fountain pen option.
