    Default Africa meets Tasmania

    howdy doody

here is my first attempt at a celtic knot

well sort of a friend helped with the making of the blank as i don't have a table saw that will setup square enough

the kit is a workshop pencil, made out of Wenge, with a Huon Pine Knot
finish is BLO/CA great contrast on the knot

    thanks guys

there is just the 2 timbers, there is a bit of a line there but i think it is either the glue or a mixture of the dust paticles embeded in the tiny cracks, not sure really but it does add character

one note i did find out is be carefull with the amount of heat when sanding, it reinacts the glue and the bits come apart

i made up a couple more today with one total failure (many peices - wasn't nice)
