Ahh WOOD
Been a while since I had the absolute pleasure of turning actual wood (to many orders for PR ) A great two-tone chrome click elegant beauty from Beartoothwoods dressed in the remains of a spalted pecan blank I got in the mystery swap 2yrs ago (I blew the other bit to smithereens) I was a lot more careful and Mr CA was an enormous help.
Cheers

Mate, its all about wood. Is there another medium? The resin crap is only to fill in time and amuse yourself with a few fancy colours. Timber is it

Love spalted pecan!!! It is a great timber for making pens with. The crosscut is weak, and the spalting only makes it want to come apart quicker....liberal amounts of thinCA during the turning is the only way to go(unless you can afford the stabilizing of it).
Well turned!!!!
Scott (got a couple hundred that need stabilizing) B

Really nice spalting in that piece...yeah, pecan seem to get punky faster and more often that any other spalted wood I have worked, but its worth the extra work, as show in your pen.
