    Default Amboina burl EB

Had a small cut off of Amboina, almost tossed it, then decided to see if I could squeeze a single blank out of it.

Managed to get a small knot on one side, and a little spalted sap wood on the other side.
The prop is what is left of the cut off.

Nice save. Burls are just in a class by themselves. Don't throw the other piece away either. Good for segmentation work. Thanks for showing.

    ED,

Amboyna Burl is drop dead special timber in all its variations, I am leaning heavily toward this type orf pen for its economy of blank and bling. The frosted Clip, Band and tip tone it well.

Neatly photographed, displayed well easy on the eye and the pocket what more could you wish?

Subtle curve to the timber satisfies B to B (bush to bush) and matching the two bushes well.

The finish is superb, in fact leaps out to show every feature as described.

    Kind regards Peter.
