An announcement from Andrew Reeson Toolworks
Sick of the inaccurate bushes that came with the Jr Gents, I decided to turn my own on my metal lathe. The results are attached.

Not much if they're made from brass. Try a nice stainless steel - say a 316 or 316L and then you would be onto something. Just a suggestion.
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

Fair enough Al. I'm just an amateur when it comes to metal work and brass is nice and easy to work, plus I had it on hand.
Brass bushes will train you to stop sanding/turning them.

What Al said, brass is probably a bit soft for that purpose.
Perhaps have a go at some Bright Mild Steel rod, that would be a fair bit harder and they work OK. It is easy to get from your local steel supplier and a LOT cheaper than brass.
