Anyone Ordered From Here Before?
Hi,
Recently i ordered from here.
Steebar: Clock Parts Clock Kits Clock Movements & Clock Making Supplies which is also linked to Pen Making Supplies, Pen Kits, Pen Blanks From Steebar
I ordered a few items such as stabilized veneered pen blanks on the 4th of Nov 2010. I've just received the credit card bill for around US$90.
i have emailed them twice, once two weeks ago and another one this week, but no reply, i intend to call them soon as i am very upset with the service i am receiving.
Will keep you updated about how it goes.
Any other suggestions?
I live in Singapore and have had great service from Woodturningz, Woodcraft and Pennstate Industries. They deliver on time and also allow package tracking.
Cheers,
Freddie

If you go to the IAP forum and do a search on Steebar, you will get quite a few hits, usually not very complimentary.

Yep ! no communications is par for the course ,and I suspect they ship by sea , took months for me to get an order from them when I first started in this addiction , prices are good generally but service non existant ,at least when I dealt with them . I think they are genuine but oh so slow ,I think I had to buy elswhere in the interim as I thought the stuff was not coming at all , but it did arrive eventually ,so be patient

It's a bit late now but why don't you try the sponsors on the forum. I stopped in at Lets make time Company at Burliegh heads last week while up there on holidays and found her of great help and will certainly be doing more business with janine.
Surely the postage couldn't be that bad to singapore and at least you would get some great service.

Oh no...
'Hello and Welcome
First off.I have never delt with Steebar but have read dozens of complaints about them for taking peoples money and not sending the product..I would also recommend woodturningz and would recomend the slimline kit as a good starting point, from there the Euro and Cigar pens are good choices
Harold''
Well it's a bit late now... Cant do anything against them and a legal lawsuit would be silly as it'll cost more than the pen kits and blanks itself.
Look on the bright side, least it was just $80+ dollars for a good lesson and not having to go bankrupt to learn.
BEWARE! better do my research next time before buying off online.
Cheers,
Freddie

Since you paid by credit card dispute it and see if they answer you. I was going to order from them and did a search and quickly realized no way in hell I was going to deal with them. I feel we have so many contributors and references here and a couple of other forums that I would rather support them because of Quality Service and very rapid shipments

I think maybe you might be jumping the gun a bit just yet, It is only 16 days since you ordered the goods and the 4th was a Thursday so your order may not have been processed that week. Believe me sometimes shipping from the US can take quite a while even with the companies that give good service. I sent for some stuff from the States a while back and from a good reliable company too and it took 3 weeks for the goods to arrive.
It is annoying when your emails get ignored and is not very good for business relations but some companies are like that in Australia too. (wont mention any names)
Looking on the brighter side, I think you can get your money back via the bank seeing as you paid with credit card if you have been ripped off. So all is not lost. I hope you get your goodies. Let us know if you get the goods or hear from the company in question.
Good luck with it.Reality is no background music.
Cheers John

Update
Good News!!!
The package just came in today.
That was 3 weeks! Phew that was long. Their products are well... kinda hit and miss with their bloodwood being brown. Some blanks look not bad but others are off, as in the colour is off. Oh well... least i'm satisfied i got what i ordered.

I'm sweating on a parcel that was sent 3/11, maybe the Oz dollar is creating extra delays.
Never had one go longer than 2 weeks before.
