Default Artist's / workshop / toolbox mechanical pencil - sheoak

    Hi everyone.

Here is a sheoak pen I created on the weekend. The kit is a toolbox pencil kit from Pop's Shed.
This is not an easy pen to create for a beginner, mainly due to the fact that you need to turn down a 1/8th inch tenon at the end of the pen to fit the end ring on it. But I'm very happy with the results of this one.

    Simon.

Looks like you are getting the hang of it hehe! A lot of the earlier pens needed a tenon turned for the centre band ,mostly not needed these days are the kits from reihzing in china?, those ones you have to assemble the metal work and spring ,thats a bit tricky main advantage is the end bit presses on rather than any glue being needed , I like to do these as a single body to take advantage of some of the nice woods and acrylics without the break in the middle . Cheers ~ John

Nice bit of work Simon. You really are getting into the pen turning.

Thanks. Yes I've well and truly been bitten with this hobby. I placed orders at four different suppliers within the last week.
