Baron Gold
Hey There,
Here is a Baron Gold kit, dressed in unknown Goldfields Timber, (Acacia Roadus Besidus) till we get a better name.
I have a post in the Timber section with pics of the Bark and All hope someone can help ID the timber.
This pen is one of four that a customer is taking to Egypt for his work mates. They are laser engraved with their names and are presented in a wooden lift top box from Timberbits.
Thanks for looking

All very nicely done.
Fit and finish look excellent with good choice of plating to complement all the timbers.
His mates should be pleased to receive these beauts.
I particularly like the York Gum.

Very spiphphy collection there Hazza.
That Acacia has a wonderful and subtle grain pattern. I think it would also look good in silver.

Hi Harry
The pens look great, I bet the customer was pleased with those pens.
The unknown timber looks like olive. Any chance that blank is olive?
Thanks for sharing.

Hey There,
Thanks for the positive comments guys I appreciate them.
My client picked up the pens on Wednesday and was rapt.
Hey David, I am pretty sure it's not Olive, I have some branches of the stuff and it looks like some sort of Fruit Tree, the boys at the Woodturners group tonight think it could be Almond, but I don't think that there are may Almond trees growing wild out the back of Kalgoolie. But I might be wrong.
I am sending a piece to the Oracle in Busselton to Identify it. Brosh has replied to my other post (Timber section) and suggested that it might be a Native Conifer and says that Black Cypress Pine might be what I have, very similar has the resin type sap residue on some of the cut sections. I'll keep you posted.
Thanks again

Very nice Harry a bit of a feather in the cap there. It seems I have plenty of that (Acacia Roadus Besidus) must use that as a description. Well done.
