Here are some of the pens I have finished lately.
1. Huon Pine slimline with Shellawax. (Probably add a black acrylic centre band, or at least see how it looks)
2.Figured Huon in Chrome and Satin Chrome Sierra.
3. Figured Huon in Platinum and Black Titanium Sierra.
4. Figured Huon in Gold and Black Titanium Sierra.
5. Unknown timber from BernieP in Gold and Black Sierra.
6. Figured Huon in Rose Gold and Black Titanium Elegant Beauty.
As you can probably tell I found some nice figured Huon Pine and decided to make a few. I have quite a lot of plain Huon but managed to find some nice crotch wood amongst it.
All but the Shellawax pen are a CA finish.
I quite like the Elegant Beauty pen, seems well made.
Comments welcome.
Mike
(Now I may have to try and sell some to pay for kits)

Nice set of pens... looks like you have the CA finish sorted out. I think the Slimline looks good but an ebony centre band might set it off nicely?
It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

I agree black or gold centre
very nice lookin pens
I think I prefer the gold sierra kits with huon, but that is personal taste. The last one I made one of my staff nicked
also like the unknown timber - probably (if I had to) my pick.
Do you have piccies of them without the clips hiding the nice figure?
PS did you see Neil's comments on shellawax and timbers like huon? tis in this threadLast edited by Sawdust Maker; 26th September 2008 at 08:58 PM. Reason: add PS

Great looking set of pens mag.
I agree that the slimline might be improved by a black centre band, but it looks good as it is. Certainly better than those wasp waisted ones.

Thansk everyone for the comments.
I will put a black band on the Huon tomorrow and re-photograph them so the figure can be seen.

nice work on the pens.
i hope for your sake they stay like that (lighter timbers, especially huon - tend to get 'dirty' because of their light colour and oils from peoples hands. also the oils in huon may effect the life of your finish)S T I R L O

All nice work Mag the slimline may get an uplift with a CB but it looks pretty good as it is.
Those Elegant Beauties do look good
All the best with the sale.
