Bethlehem Olive Wood Necklace Pen!
My PSI order came in today with the little table saw (4" blades) and some olive wood, necklace pen kits and some finishing supplies that I desperately needed.
Was quite pleased with the way the olive wood turned. Came out looking very nice and for a light wood it has some nice character!
I wanted to try olive wood and was pleased with it. I think this will make a nice gift for an acquaintance who is a nurse and also a Christian!
Currently the first project on my web site (link below) and the new goodies for the operation are the first under Shiny Things ).
Comments welcome!
Thanks & take care, Vikki.

Very nice and a very enjoyable browse through your site, I have never seen that pen kit before certainly would make your nurse friend very happy, I would think, I find it is always nice to get a present that is useable. Thanks for sharing.

G'day Vikki,
Very nice pen. I really like the contours on it. The finish is great as well.
Cheers,
Rick

Thanks all for the kind replies!
BernieP: Glad you enjoyed the site! I originally started this because I didn't have a clue but found sites where people were showing what they did / had. Hopefully mine will be as useful in that I don't always either do or have what someone else might.
At one point I kept a spreadsheet so someone might have an idea what things would cost to get into various aspects of all this, but got told in very short order by a number of people that it was a real bad idea to have online, sigh....
It was rather scary to see how much it costs to get into all this, to be real honest !
ScrollZilla : Thanks! I think I am sorta stuck on that general design, not sure if that is good or bad at this point.
One thing I HATE about most pens is that you have to have a death grip on them to keep them from sliding through ones fingers while one writes.
The larger diameter and that little indentation (to some degree or other) seems to make a huge difference in writing comfort. Maybe it is just me and big fingers, but most people do seem to like the idea once they try it ?!?
Since I started making pens, I have been tossing all those toothpick pens I have !
Penpal: It was a good reason to acquire the parts for the project . Need to make one for her roomie too. So many pretty woods, so little $$$ . Pleased to admit that while I never liked light woods, I have come to appreciate and enjoy them!
"Take Care", especially these days, is a good thing to keep in mind. I got it from a very old friend years ago and it seems to me to be a good thing to carry on.

Add to this a slimline done in the olive wood too! Love the character of that wood!
Put up a couple pix tonight, same place if anyone wishes to see it.

You can cheat you know. I made one similar a while ago using a standard slim line kit and a detachable key ring kit .I agree though the olive wood looks great .
insanity is a state of mind if you don't mind it does not matter.
