Beware of the Croc !! Its Bloody !!
Hi All,
Managed to finish of the second of four NT Croc Jaw Bone castings today. The casting is again one of Neils specials yet to be released and the kit is a Roman Harvest from David at Timberbits.
Cutting, drilling and sanding the ends of this blank was no real issue but must be done very slowly little bit by little bit, however I did have some troubles during the turning of this particular blank which by the way again needs to be done very carefully and with very light cuts and even though I was taking all these precautions I still had some chipping out during the turning but managed to save the day on a couple of occasions by flooding the blank with good old thin CA.
I really like the look of this pen and the colour, which Neil named "Blood Red"

Thanks for looking
Cheers
Tony.

It looks great Tony, I can't see any broken bits, so you have blended it in well . I always turn the DC off when turning them, just in case you need to go find the odd little piece to stick back in
I just finished stabilising some bright red ones today (solid bright red pigment), along with some antique copper and antique silver Pearlex ones, all special orders . As I am not taking the Cactus Juice with me, so had to get them done before I go.Neil____________________________________________Every day presents an opportunity to learn something new

Neil,
The pieces just came clean out with no missing bits so it was a very easy and worthwhile fix. I guess luck was on my side too in being able to find the bits All in all the finish and the look of these pens is pretty special when you see them. Well they are too me lol, I guess not everybody is going to like them
I will be pretty keen on getting a few more of these castings so keep me posted on stock and other available colours These translucent Blood Red ones are awesome looking !!
Cheers
Tony.

I am very surprised nobody noticed !!
I only this morning was having another look at this pen and noticed something not quite right with the centre band The little ring that sits down onto the main centre band was not sitting in position properly and was making the whole centre band of the pen look a little wonky. Back to the workshop out with the punches and with lots of care it was all fixed.
On reviewing the above photos they too show the incorrect position of the little metal ring. All fixed now and looks much better
Cheers
Tony.

Tony pen is VERY VERY VERY nice and the reason I didn't notice the centre band problem if you can call it that is because I was too blown away by the actual pen
you will have no trouble selling that pen Unless Ian has already bought it
Cheers dorno
