Beware! the focal length of a DoHickey!
Made these two Statesmen from Green Dyed Box Elder Burl from AZ.(Arizona Silhuoette). I put the butterfly DoHickey's on them, BUT, after completing the second one and having already put it together, Alas! I left too much clear resin on the DoHickey and the focal length proved to be too much, looking at it from the top all you could see was a blur,. Couldn't dismantle it safely being a closed end pen, so I took it over to the belt sander and took quite a bit off, then used a Dremmel to refine it, had to put a coat of CA over it and then refine some more, it is passable but have sure learnt a lesson here, always check the Do Hickey BEFORE taking it off the Lathe..
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, these two are the result of a few hours labour(note to WheelinRound!),; well up to you fro comments. AmosLast edited by PenTurner; 1st March 2009 at 11:20 AM. Reason: grammar

Wow! Nice colors. They sell those things at AZ Silhoutte? Cool.

Whoa, that first one sure was a coke-bottle-glasses Dohickey, wasn't it? Looks like you made a pretty good recovery though.
