Beware online ordering
Has anybody had any dealings with a firm called Steebar in New Jersey? I ordered and paid for an order of pen kits and blanks from this firm back in September. The money has been removed from my account, however all emails and phone calls from me enquired where my order is remain unanswered. Any help from our forum friends in America will be much appreciated.
Doesn't play well with others. :~

Ordering from USA can take up to 3 months from order if they sent it via seamail it can take up to 3 months to reach our shores. Hope this helps a little. I have ordered from others in the USA but never steebar and that is what I learnt

Shakie
My experieces are.
China 4 to 6 days Heavy Parcels Air Express.
America 4 to 6 days USPS Always Air Express Large box 140 pen blanks to 6 pen blanks last week.
Canada Expensive sea freight over two months their Air Express dynamite prices.
Always and a day stipulate and have confirmed USPS from USA, my experiences all favourable I have a box full of envelopes and boxes while the dollar was right up there to prove my results. All of my purchases from verified IAP Penturners dealers. Go to IAP Penturners and do a check on this firm, find a member in the suppliers area and seek help, use PayPal there are certain garantees thru them.
Horse is out of the stable now but see if there is a misunderstanding.
Please have success. Peter

Thanks for your advice everyone. I have ordered from the US many times without problem but this is the first from Steebar. Their website says orders are delivered priority mail or UPS, not seamail. That is what I paid for as well. My biggest concern is that I now cannot contact them by either email or phone.
Doesn't play well with others. :~

I know from the US pen forum that this particular supplier has a lousy reputation. All you can do is to keep trying to contact them. Hope it works out for you.
If anyone is thinking of buying anything offshore, it would be wise to ask around here first. There won't be many suppliers that at least one of us would not have dealt with.

Yeah I just did a search on IAP in regards to steebar and they get some really bad reports from them.
this gives you an idea of one of them

hope that helps

I have had a few orders from steebar when I started off, same thing no contact at all, checked forums same result , but the items did turn up after like 10 weeks, I had made the second order fairly close to the first so was not aware of just how slow they were,so I don;t think all is lost ,just need to be patient ,and fingers crossed, I honestly don't know how they stay in business ,must be lots of new clients that don't know the ropes I suspect

Shakie you said the horrible word Steebar. I have never dealt with them at all, after hearing the problems that frends inside America have had with them. Deal with the more reputable suppliers like CSUSA, Beartooth Woods, Addictive Pens in Australia import Berea pen parts. I hope you hear from them soon and wish you luck in obtaining your order.

did i see the dreaded word STEEBAR OH MY GOD
my suggestion is steer clear of themloads and loads of fellow pen turners have tried to deal with them with no luck, if you look on iap site and type their name in the search you will get hundreds of negative comments. this co should be in a sticky for company's to be avoided. ps good luck, if you paid by credit card see if you can cancell it.
