    Default a bizaare feeling

I have just turned my very foirst pen yesterday for the SWMBO as it was mothers day.

It worked so well I then quickly made another one for my real mother.

I had it in my pocket and used it a few times this morning before posting it.

I have now had to go ack to using my regualr pen.

The bizaarness I refer to is that I feel wrong useing my regular pen after holding the "home made pen".

    Have others felt this way?

I feel the need to rush home and make a pen for my own use at work as I feel so strange using my "old" pen at work.

I will post some pics after I figure out how to do it and get time to do it when the chitlens are not around.

    Not unusual at all.

Look at it this way .. you're FIELD TESTING the pen. Carry it around for a few days
and make sure it works OK, feels right in the pocket, doesn't leak ink etc. etc.
Do this until you make the NEXT pen.

When you give it away or sell it, it has been fully tested.

Plus, you get a new pen every so often ..

I refuse to use those cheap plastic bulk made common rubbish excuse for a pen

I have made enough pens that have small faults in them. So there not good enough to give away or sell but still good to use as spare pens.
For my day to day work I use a E.B Gold titanium that is made to my high standard.
SWMBO uses a variety of pens for work because she works with the rich and not so famous public servants and when they borrow one to use they normally ask to have one made for them

A pen is a personal thing for a lot of people ,I have people at the markets try half a dozen or so to get the feel for it ,some like color so go for the acrylics, but most love the wood feel ,hence I try and keep the wood as natural as possible ,some I put more durable coatings on ,but I try and steer away from too plasticy a feel, most people realize the pen will lose its lustre a bit after a time and don't mind that in the least, just because the shine fades a bit doesn't matter ,if you have grown into a pen then it will always feel good in the hand congrats on your first ,now you know why there is no turning back lol ! enjoy the addiction cheers ~ John

My wife has confessed that she felt guilty when she had to buy a pen in an emergency one time. I have three of my pens on the desk at work which I use and allow others to use when required. Failures stay home for use and not so bad failures are given away.

I am the same when you put so much work in making a pen and go and use a cheap pen it's just not right.

I have a box of 2000 of them... until they are gone I can't really justify keeping any wooden ones.

Except, of course, those that don't make the grade.

Fortunately, I have a lot that don't make the grade!!!
