Where did you get the blanks from?

    I get mine from HERE
With these you get the Sierra Vista kits which have the same size tubes as the Sierra but larger fittings at the cap and nib end to allow for the extra size needed for these pens
He also does them for Cigars but without the kits included cheers ~ John

Looks good, but is there some Fisheye on the camera lens, or is it the resin making the middle of the pen look fatter than the ends?

I must get some of these and try, I'm keen to see how people react to them IRL.

    Awesome, love it!
As a professional electronic engineer, I must have one of these!

I checked out the bear tooth woods site, and it looks good. I've never made a pen before, and honestly, am never likely to, but since this kit seems to be complete, I reckon I should give it a go.

I can't ever see myself making more than one, so I don't see the point in getting a proper mandrel, bushings etc. I figure I can just use a bit of threaded rod held in my chuck jaws, with a couple of nuts clamping some sacrifical timber bushings turned to the right size at each end. Anyone see a problem with this? My understanding is that the kit comes with the blank pre-drilled, and with the brass tube already inserted, so the only thing that needs to be done on the lathe is to face off each end of the blank, and shape/sand/polish it. Am I being realistic here?

    Thanks.

If you really want to make one then the easiest way is to do it between centres ,no mandrel or bushes needed, just a micrometer or calipers to size it ,on the other hand you could contact me by PM and for the cost of the kit and $5 dollars postage I can send you one from my market stock hehe. Cheers ~ John
    PS,not trying to discourage a potential pen-addiction .
