Black pen kits arrived now, those of you with good colour sense, please suggest what timber would suit, to my thinking it would have to be a lighter colour timber to get any show of the black tip and clip. Amos

Good to hear that the kits are staring to turn up on people's doorsteps.
That was that exact reason why I wanted to get them. I have a few bits and pieces around the are very light and some are quite white in colour as well.
For example; obeche, celery top pine, cypress, birdseye maple, chestnut, claret ash, vic ash, cottonwood poplarCheers

Mine also have arrived.
I am thinking about using these with black or gray ebony or maybe even that last bit of zebra wood.

Yer, we tried for a white Chrithmuth but only got wind, rain and hail. By crikey i am amazed that no-one was bashed by that hail.
Happy New Year to you all. May everyone be as nice to you as you have been to us on this board.
