Black Iron M3 Jnr. Emperor-Hard as Nails
This is Black Iron solid metal blank in the M3 range. And that is exactly what it turns like, Iron! mate, 6 sharpenings of the tools and even then I wished I had a metal lathe with the necessary cutting tools. Having turned it ,then came the sanding part, needed to be careful re heat because as I found out on a previous time, too much and bang!, started with 180 and gave time to cool as needed, but much sanding was needed, went through the grades and at 1200 went to wet sanding thru to 15000, used the recommended Nuvite11 Cut then Polish, this showed up quite a few flaws, back to 180 and the whole process again, this showed up one small flaw, back to 1200 and through to 15000 again only on the flaw, looked clean, used the Cut , then the Polish compound, and satisfied enough to put the Jnr. Emperor together, I could have used gold fittings, they looked quite good also, but thought that this was more the perfect match for the pen.
Hope you like it, comments most welcome. AmosGood, better, best, never let it rest;

Beautiful pen Amos, perfect match of blank and kit.
You're getting this Emperor thing down to a fine art!
So, when is the metal lathe coming then?

Very sweet looking pen there Amos. I think you made the right choice of colour for the fittings too. Can't see myself doing any M3's in the near future though.
CorbsIt's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

Corbs, and anyone else, If anyone knows if there is a Metal Gouge that can be used, that is a gouge that is used in metal work, that would really help in turning this type of material. Amos

Very classy pen.
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.
