    Default Black Palm Monte Blanc

HI This pen I would have to say is my best finish yet. I am very proud of this one. Hubby when I was turning it said the wood was disgusting now it finished it a nice pen..AH HUH Victory is mine. I got to change his mind without nagging. First time ever used black palm it does make a nice pen.
    Love to know your feedback

The pen is great Toni and the gold trim really sets it off,
well done. I like wood with character it just adds that bit more.

Where did you get the black palm from?

I have bought it, here in the West, from both Timbecon and Carbatec and even the local woodturning supplies shop (who probably gets it fromone of the two first mentioned. As a blank it looks rough and fibrousy.

Toni, well done. Black Palm is not the easiest to turn or finish. Your execution in this has been done well. Also don't worry about what people say about your work, remember it is an expression of yourself, and 9 times out of 10 they are incapable of designing and making something themselves. So stick to your guns and turn from your heart and listen to your timber talk to you.

That is an elegant pen, Toni. Thanks for showing us how Black Palm looks as a delightfully finished piece. Keep up the fine work!!
I have a chunk of Black Palm, and have been trying to figure out what to do with it. It sure does finish well for as course as it looks in raw form.

    Hi toni,

That looks really nice, how did you finish it (aside from 'very well').

Lovely pen. Have one already to turn tomorrow at Wood Turners Group. If it turns as nice as yours I will be a very happy lady.
