Blackheart Sassafras SN Gent
Hi Everyone,
Here is a Blackheart Sassafras SN Gent fountain pen I created from a piece I brought back from Tasmania.
It was in the scrap pile at Island Specialty Timbers and I think I got the piece for about 50 cents.

great job mate
not sure if it was deliberate or not but the way you have it half and half gives the pen some great character

Hi Simon
Thats a great looking Fountain Pen! You must be proud of that.
Thanks for sharing. I feel like going into the shed to make a Sassy SN Gent Fountain Pen too! Do you think the SN Gent is too big?

Thanks for your comments. For me the SN is good, but my everyday writing pens at work are a Baron rollerball and Baron fountain pen. The SN is special and feels good to hold, but might get difficult after long periods.
pthe other thing I like about the Baron in comparison is you can attach the cap to the back of the pen - I do this and find the weight distribution is nicer.
my wife is not such a fan of the SN Gent - definitely not a girls' pen style.
